The Violetta Duo

The Violetta Duo is comprised of clarinetist, Madelyn Moore and Flutist, Dorothy Glick-Maglione. The Duo was founded with the intent of expanding the repertoire composed for flute and clarinet alone. To that end they have commissioned works from several composers and have given performances and lectures throughout the United States. They are also passionate about bringing new music to audiences that may not otherwise be exposed to modern art-music.

In the spring of 2022, The Violetta Duo was awarded $10,000 from New Mexico State University for the commission of three new works in their "sky & earth, boundless" series,  a long-term project that will center around the US National Parks System. The resulting works were Labyrinth by Theresa Martin, White Sands by Jacob Dalager and RMNP Ecologies by Daniel Morel, all of which were premiered in 2023 and performed at the International Clarinet Association’s 50th Annual ClarinetFest in Denver, CO.

The Violetta Duo has also performed at conferences for College Music Society, the Festival of Contemporary Artists in Music, and the National Association of Composers/USA, as well as in residency at Bemidji State University in Bemidji, MN and live on Kansas Public Radio.
