Biography

Dr. Madelyn Moore is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Clarinet at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM where she teaches all aspects of the clarinet studio as well as courses within the music education curriculum. Prior to her time in New Mexico, Dr. Moore was on faculty at Kilgore College and Tarrant County College, and was an active free-lancer in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

As a soloist and chamber musician, Dr. Moore has performed all over the world. She is currently a member of the Las Cruces Symphony, the NMSU Faculty Woodwind Quintet, Trio Enchantment, and The Violetta Duo. She is a proponent of new music, frequently commissioning new works for her chamber ensembles and participating in consortia for new clarinet works.

Madelyn Moore holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Clarinet Performance from The University of Kansas, where she studied with Dr. Stephanie Zelnick; a Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from Northern Illinois University, studying with Dr. Gregory Barrett; and a Bachelor of Music Education from Texas Christian University, where she studied with Gary Whitman. Her other notable teachers include Ana Victoria Luperi and Fred Ormand.
